Ramayana 2014 Cast List

CASTING REFLECTIONS – Congratulations to all for completing the audition process. You’ve done your part; hopefully you can acknowledge your growth and successes within the process. Now comes the next step- casting of the play. Casting is challenging for both performers and directors. For some, this will not be a big issue, while others may experience disappointment. The key is finding a way to move forward positively. Most have heard the statement before- every role is pivotally important-and while a bit of a clich’, it is proven true.

Discovering History: Fourth Graders Study World Explorers

Dispatched on faraway quests to secure riches and territory for their countries of origin, and fueled by curiosity and courage, the discoveries of early world explorers in the western hemisphere are a standard piece of the fourth grade social studies curriculum at Mount Madonna School (MMS). Recently fourth grade students shared their Explorers Project research in presentations to their classmates, and it was evident that the students had been fully engaged in learning about the explorers’ lives and exploits.

‘We learned about Danish explorer Vitus Bering,’ explained fourth graders Amirah Ibragimchayeva and Addy Catterall-Pendleton. ‘Bering went to sea as a teenager and later joined the Russian navy. He led several dangerous expeditions.’ The Bering Strait, the Bering Sea, Bering Island, Bering Glacier and the Bering Land Bridge have since all been posthumously named in his honor.

Self-Discovery and Empowerment: “Legally Blonde” at Mount Madonna School

Edgy, ironic and bitingly funny, Legally Blonde also contains a message of empowerment and self-discovery, and believing in one’s own capabilities whether you’re woman or man, blonde or some other hair color. This upbeat musical is infused with contemporary music in various styles, including ballad, reggae, snappy funk and big Broadway-like ‘show-stoppers.’

Tickets for Legally Blonde are on sale now and can be purchased through Thursday, January 23, in the school office or by calling 408-847-2717. After that, tickets will be available at the door.

Tickets are $10 for students 18 years and under, and $15 for adults. MMS alumni are $10 on Friday and Saturday.

Tickets may be purchased by check or cash; or with a credit card for orders of $25 or more.

Magic, Mayhem and Flying Carpet Rides: ‘Aladdin Jr.’ Onstage

Hop onto a camel or the nearest flying carpet, and let the Mount Madonna School (MMS) middle school production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. carry you to Agrabah, the City of Enchantment. Join Princess Jasmine as she resists efforts to marry her to a visiting prince, and follow along with the street savvy Aladdin as he tries to stay one step ahead of the Sultan’s guards.

Cast of Legally Blonde

Congratulations on your casting!
You will notice that on the list there are general terms such as Harvard Student, Marching Band, Delta Nu or Frat Pack.  Those terms and in fact, the list itself does not necessarily reveal everything you’ll be doing in the play. Once we’re together, you will hear more of the specific scenes, songs, and dances that you’ll be in. Remember, the script will change some- avoid highlighting lines just yet. Songs and line assignments may be altered. Mainly now, trust the process; be kind to your fellow students, remain open to opportunity and direction, and let us work and play hard as a united theatrical community to bring this energized show to life!

Aladdin Cast List

Congratulations on your casting!

You will notice on cast the list there are simply titles along with exotic Arabic names next to your names. While it will be our job together to bring dynamic to those titles (and learn how to pronounce them together), the list does not necessarily reveal everything you’ll be doing in the play. Remember, the script will change some- avoid highlighting lines just yet. Songs and line assignments may be altered. Mainly now, trust the process; be kind to your fellow students, remain open to opportunity and direction, and let us work hard as a united theatrical community to bring Aladdin to life.
