Outdoor Education

Our mountaintop setting is an outdoor classroom connecting children to the natural world and their place within it. Spending time in the fresh air and sunshine helps the students to develop a personal relationship with the earth. Exploring the trails and getting to know the various ecosystems throughout the seasons instills understanding, appreciation and inspiration for stewardship. This learning is deepened through our kindergarten bookmaking program that highlights these natural processes. Through story, song, baking and hands-on experiences such as visiting a working organic farm, the children explore where the things that we need to live come from and they come to understand our essential role as stewards of the community and caretakers of the Earth.
