Bus Driver

We have an opening for a licensed School Bus Driver for the 2017-18 school year: current Class B commercial license with Passenger Endorsement, and School Bus Special Driver Certificate. We are also willing to pay for training to an interested qualified candidate. The position is full or part-time, 5 days a week, 1 or 2 daily shifts available. Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach

We have an opening starting August 2017, for a middle school girls volleyball coach. Positions begin mid-August through mid-November.

This part-time position requires:

  • knowledge of volleyball
  • the ability to relate well with both students and parents
  • good organization and communication skills

Middle School Social Studies and English 6 Teaching Position

We have an opening beginning September 2017 for a full-time middle school social studies and English 6 teacher. The position involves teaching study skills, English and World History to grade 6, world history to grade 7 and US history to grade 8. The teacher also serves as a homeroom teacher and support to students, guiding them daily with social and academic needs and joining them on field trips, including a camping trip the first week of school. Compensation is based on education and experience.

Dance Teacher and Choreographer Position

We have an opening beginning September 2017 for a part-time dance teacher for middle school grades 6-8, and a choreography for three productions for 6-12 grades. The choreography will work with our performing arts team. These positions can be combined or considered as separate positions.

The middle school dance position is 3 teaching hours per week, with 1.5 hours of prep time included for 4.5 hours per week. The choreographer position includes a range of afternoon hours with an average of 10-15 hours per week. Meetings and prep time included. If the position is combined, the total job will be about 15-20 hours per week. The hours will increase during the show rehearsal weeks.

Elementary Music Teacher Position

We have an opening beginning September 2017 for a part-time music teacher for grades 1-5. We hire for skills, attitude and enthusiasm for introducing, modeling and encouraging the joy of music education. This is the perfect position for music educators who have some experience working with elementary students. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and Orff training is helpful as we have Orff instruments and recorders to use, as well as an extensive assortment of miscellaneous percussion instruments. Also available is an enriching teaching materials library.

Along with the weekly arc of presenting age-appropriate musical concepts and development of skills, there is the preparation and collaboration with classroom teachers and the school’s dance specialist for both a Winter Concert and a Cultural Awareness presentation in the spring.

The average weekly classes are 4 hours per week with an additional two hours of prep time for a total of 6 hours per week. Compensation is based on education and experience.

Substitute Teachers

2016/17 School year, immediate openings. We are currently accepting applications for experienced teachers of preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, and 6th-12th Grade. Specific subjects we teach in 6th-12th include mathematics through Calculus, Sciences, Spanish, Dance, Music, Studio Art, History, English, and Outdoor Education. Subject-specific experience is desired but not necessary; proven ability to manage a classroom and follow a lesson plan is important.

Those with classroom experience are strongly preferred. Applicants should be timely, flexible, well-organized, and able to follow a lesson plan.
