It was great to see the creativity and flair of the many students, parents and faculty who came decked out in costumes, makeup and “special effects” for today’s elementary school Halloween parade! From happy animals and superheroes, to wild characters and lovely beings – the community displayed a lot of imagination and spirit!
On October 17, Mount Madonna School (MMS) students attended and helped staff an event for Congressman Sam Farr at the home of Sally-Christine Rodgers and Randy Repass. It was a gathering in appreciation and honor of Sam Farr’s work in protecting our oceans.

Mount Madonna School (MMS) is pleased to announce that senior Alexis ‘Lexi’ Julien has been named a Commended Student in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program. Earning this distinction signifies that a student scored in the top 5% nationwide of the more than 1.5 million students who took the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

We’re excited to announce a new tool we’re trying out this year called Google Classroom. It’s linked to our school’s Google Apps for Education account and provides our teachers with the ability to assign, review, comment on, and grade homework digitally. There are a number of teachers who are experimenting with using it as a tool this year to improve their management of submitted work, collaboration, and increase the speed with which they can return work to the students
Cast List ReflectionsCongratulations to all for your engagement in the audition process, and for your trusting those in the room to be positive witness to your experimentation and discovery. Now the directors have the difficult job of assigning the roles. We’re aiming to post both cast lists by Saturday, 10/4, by 3:00 in the afternoon.

The Factory at Mount Madonna School (MMS) is a recently re-designated classroom space on the upper campus that students are utilizing for an array of creative projects. Resources include a state-of-the-art 3D printer, Arduino input/output sensors, LilyPad sewable circuits, a full complement of Snap Circuits education kits, soldering irons, ample motors, LEDs, switches and power supplies. There is enough space for up to three classes at a time to store ongoing engineering projects.
