Drive for Schools Thank You!

Thanks to all who purchased Drive for Schools tickets from Mount Madonna School students. The list of all prize winners is posted at http://beachboardwalk.com/Drive-For-Schools
 
We reached our goal: Drive for Schools raised $20,130 to benefit our Annual and Capital Campaigns! THANK YOU to everyone who chose to support Mount Madonna School through the Drive for Schools fundraiser! This is an important effort in that it allows all of us to reach outside our own pocketbooks to friends, relatives, neighbors, and business associates. Along this line, thank you to Shannon Fisher and Jessica Cambell for setting up the ticket sales opportunities at New Leaf Market, Capitola, and Deluxe Foods in Aptos. Our sincere appreciation to Letty Bess for tracking all sales and Rod Caborn who kicked off the drive with our students, offering fun and motivation, and who will lead our all-school celebration on November 5.
 
The following classes are celebrating 100% participation within their class: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th! (6th grade is celebrating outstanding participation by virtue of the great number of tickets sold by those who did participate.)

Background on this Fundraiser

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the Capitola Auto Mall Dealer Group have again offered MMS the opportunity to participate in their Drive for Schools 2014 — and we want to utilize this opportunity to raise $20,000 (and $30,000 would be even better)! This is a great fundraiser for our school because MMS keeps 100% of proceeds from ticket sales.
 
Funds raised will be split between the Annual Giving Campaign and the Capital Campaign to complete our new multi-purpose gym. 
 
This is a great opportunity to raise money outside of our school community. In past years, many students (elementary and older) have been very successful in selling tickets in front of their neighborhood market, at Trader Joe’s, Safeway, etc., and through social media messaging to friends and relatives. This raffle is very popular due to the great prizes!
 
The Drive for Schools fundraiser drawing offers three exciting options for the Grand Prize winner: a new Toyota Prius including tax, title, and license; or, a new Subaru Outback including tax, title, and license; or, $25,000 in cash!
 
In honor of the 10th anniversary of Drive For Schools, ten $1,000 cash prizes, plus over 100 additional prizes will be given away! You may go to www.beachboardwalk.com/driveforschools for more details and info.
 
Ticket Sales Logistics:
  • 4 packets containing (6) tickets each were sent home with each student.
  • Tickets to enter the drawing are sold for $5.00 each or 6 tickets for $25.00. 
  • Checks should be made payable to Mount Madonna School or ‘MMS.’ 
  • Please ensure that the ticket purchaser fills out the entire ticket stub, and you return that portion to the office. Give the larger part of the raffle ticket back to the purchaser so they can claim their prize, if they win.
  • If you need more tickets, please contact Lara Kilpatrick in the Advancement Office. 
  • If you choose not to sell tickets, please return them to the office immediately.
 
Please return ALL stubs and unsold tickets by Thursday, October 16th. The drawing will be held at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Sunday, October 26th (ticket holders do not need to be present to win).
