WATSONVILLE >> Mount Madonna School’s path to the final stages of the Northern California Division V girls volleyball championships hasn’t been a straight line. It’s been more of a curved path, perhaps similar to the one the spine of the Hawks’ setter, Indigo Kelly, used to follow.

“It was at 74 degrees,” Kelly said.

Kelly, one of four seniors on the 14-girl Mount Madonna squad, has been a key component to the Hawks’ success. She will be leading the charge when they, as the No. 3 seed, host No. 7 Clear Lake in a NorCal D-V semifinal game on Tuesday night. With a win, Mount Madonna (16-11) will be just three wins away from a state title. Read more
