Leadership Qualities and the U.S. Constitution: First Graders’ Civics Lesson

First graders are learning about the United States Constitution, the Amendments and the rights and responsibilities of adult citizens to vote for who will govern them. In addition to voting timelines, the students made a list of the qualities important to them in choosing a leader.

After identifying the characteristics they hope their leader would possess, first graders had fun and campaigned for their favorite Sesame Street characters!
