Hands-On Volcano Science in Preschool and Kindergarten

“I had the privilege of giving Phee’s preschool class and the kindergarten students a science lesson for their Hawaiian studies today!” shared teacher Lisa Catterall this week. “The following questions and comments, no kidding, came from the kindergartners:”
1. What about subduction zones? You only told us about the other two.
2. I have a tectonic right in my yard.
3. My favorite chemicals are hydrogen and oxygen because they make water.
4. Are we just doing baking soda and vinegar? Or what??
5. The inside of the Earth is metal because it came from a meteor.
6. There’s an inner core, an outer core, and a crust.
7. What about dinosaurs? Are they really extinct?
