Academic Programs at Mount Madonna School
Mount Madonna School offers a PK–12 education on 380 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our programs are built around integrated learning, small class sizes, and a belief that education should develop the whole person — academically, creatively, and as a member of a community.
Preschool & Kindergarten
A nature-immersed early childhood program emphasizing play, discovery, and a strong social foundation. Small groups, experienced teachers, and daily time on the land.

Elementary Program
Grades 1–5 combine rigorous academics with art, music, movement, and outdoor learning. Students develop strong literacy and numeracy alongside curiosity and collaboration.
Middle School
Grades 6–8 bridge elementary and high school with a program that takes adolescent development seriously. Project-based learning, meaningful advisory relationships, and electives that spark genuine interest.
High School
Grades 9–12 offer a college-preparatory curriculum with Advanced Placement courses, a senior thesis program, and meaningful leadership opportunities. Small class sizes mean every student is known.
Summer Programs
Mountain of Fun Summer Camps bring students from the broader community to campus for week-long sessions of outdoor adventure, arts, and discovery. Open to MMS students and community members alike.
