During the month of February, third graders at Mount Madonna School celebrated Black History Month by studying historical Black activists. Students completed research, wrote essays and created portraits.
“Rosa Parks was a good person because she helped other people and risked her life for other people” said student Chloe Comartin. “I learned that everybody is different and don’t worry about what other people say.”
“I learned that Sojourner Truth met the president twice and gave lectures to people,” shared classmate Weston Woodrow.
