Lillian Wayne, 16, junior

What inspires you?
My feminist idols such as my mom, Beyoncé, and Hillary Clinton. I am inspired because they are strong, independent, and passionate about what they do.

What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
My favorite class is U.S. Government, because we have really good discussions on really interesting topics. I also enjoy having my mom as our teacher.

If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
I would end the violence and discrimination against women and girls throughout the world.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
I’ve always wanted to go somewhere super tropical and warm like Tahiti or the Bahamas. One day I want to swim in warm, crystal blue water.

Name one big challenge in your life right now:
My biggest challenge is being able to see the long term benefits of what I’m currently doing in school.

What is your dream job?
I would love to do something involved with fashion design. I love looking at and learning about fashion and have been interested in it since I was young. I would love to do something that’s creative.

What are your three favorite things?
My favorite things are my friends, music and traveling.

What do you want to do after high school?
I want to attend college in a big city.

What is something that makes you smile?
My friends, they always know how to make me smile and laugh.

Share a favorite Mount Madonna School memory, and why?
Staying in the cabins with the girls in my class on our freshman trip to Catalina Island. We just had such a fun time talking and laughing. I feel like all the girls in my class really grew a lot closer to each other after that trip.
