Honoring Traditions: Middle School Student Mural Installed

Thalia and Melpomene, the ancient Greek muses, are frequently depicted in modern theater by two masks with exaggerated expressions. These iconic theatrical symbols, one smiling and one frowning, represent the divide between comedy and tragedy, and feature prominently in a Mount Madonna School student mural recently installed at the Upper Campus.

Celebrating 37 Years Onstage: Mount Madonna School’ “Ramayana!”

Ramayana!, the Mount Madonna School sword-and-sorcery epic now in its 37th year, features an original rock-n-roll score and magical characters who encounter danger and love, good versus evil, duty, heroic action and sacrifice. Performances on June 5-7 at the Mexican Heritage Theater in San Jose.

Fifth Grade Class Awarded $500 Disney Friends for Change Grant for Global Youth Service Day

Mount Madonna, CA, April 2015 — The fifth grade class at Mount Madonna School was recently awarded a Disney Friends for Change Youth Grant through Youth Service America (YSA).

Students Move Up in Piano Certificate of Merit Program

Congratulations to Mount Madonna School students Given Rehani, 7th, Riley Wagner, 6th, and Zach Wagner, 9th, who recently participated in the Certificate of Merit Program for pian, at the University of California, Santa Cruz. All three passed their level requirements: Given, level one, Riley, level five and Zach, level seven.

It was fun, engaging and a wonderful learning experience. It takes a great amount of time and energy to plan and execute this wonderful event so please know that it is of great value to and appreciated by our student community.

Finding Joy: High School Seniors Journey to India

O n March 27, sixteen Mount Madonna School seniors departed on an adventure that will take them half way around the world to New Delhi, India. For the students it will be a significant journey to another culture, where they will experience a society that is far older and quite different from what they are used to: different in language, history, food, religion and social customs.
