The 6th year of the Model United Nations (MUN) club at Mount Madonna School got underway recently with an assembly at Stanford University. Ten Mount Madonna School high school students participated in the event held November 15-17. The participating students were: Preethi Balagani, 12th; Alyssa Feskanin, Chris Colip, Lena Wiley, Lexi Julien, Renata Massion, Tobin Mitchell and Zoe Kelly, 11th; Sophia Saavedra, 10th; Isabella Bettencourt, 9th, along with honorary member Lekha Duvvoori.
On December 2, the second grade class visited two local state park ‘treasures,’ Wilder Ranch and Natural Bridges. Students were able to see the monarch butterflies clustered in Eucalyptus branches; and explored the grounds of a 19th century dairy ranch. Second grade teacher Jenni Leach shares some highlights of this day of learning:

The Mount Madonna property and its environment is the habitat for many kinds of wildlife, including deer, turkeys, snakes and mountain lions, all of which have been sighted on our land.
