Amelie Zands Senior 2025

Class of ’25 Senior Spotlight: Amelie Zands

If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
If I had the power to change one thing it would be access to education. I believe that knowledge is the most powerful thing someone can have.

What is one challenge you are facing in your life right now?
A challenge in my life right now is balancing homework and time to spend with friends and family. I want to stay on top of my grades but also want to hang out with my friends before we all go off to different schools.

What is your dream job and why?
My dream job is one where I can help other people and still be creative. I love to organize things and interact with people so I hope I can continue doing that.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by a lot of different things…I am inspired by life because there is so much for me to experience and learn. I’m inspired by my family and how hard they have worked, and by artists like Vivienne Westwood who use their creative visions to inspire positive change.

What is your favorite memory of your time at Mount Madonna School?
I don’t think I could ever pick just one favorite memory. Having lunch with my friends every day and getting to go on such amazing trips have to be some of my favorite times though.

What is the mantra or catchphrase that most encapsulates your way of being?
“If you weren’t ready, you wouldn’t have the opportunity.”

What are your plans for after graduation?
After high school I plan to attend Parsons in NYC and study fashion design! I also hope to travel all over the world and make a lot of friends.
