Wishes for My Students, a poem by Mount Madonna School Preschool-Kindergarten Director Sarojani Rohan, was published in the August 2012 edition of Growing Up in Santa Cruz. Sarojani wishes to share her poem with our Mount Madonna School community.
joy in the journey
peace in the innermost place of their being
health to do and enjoy all that calls to them
fun
compassion for themselves and all beings
clarity to see what is false and what is True
honesty as a code to live by
integrity to do what they know is right
some quiet every day so they can hear their own song
wisdom to honor their gifts and talents
gratitude for all they’ve been blessed with
guidance to follow what has heart and meaning for them
cheerfulness to do whatever they need to do even when they don’t want to do it
friendships that are deep and true
love that surrounds and enfolds them wherever they are
inspiration that lights their path
a sense of purpose and fulfillment to their days
a steadfast heart,
enough magic and wonder
to satisfy their stargazer’s hunger for Mystery,
a willingness to be dazzled by everyday miracles,
and love for It All.
Congratulations to Mount Madonna sophomore Carlo LeGan, whose Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills earned him first place gold in a 10-0 shut-out final match at the recent Rising Sun National Tournament in Daly City. This August 25 event marked Carlo’s fourth consecutive shut-out tournament (no points scored against him).
Wed, Nov 18, the school will be testing our Power Announce system. Expect to receive a test message at your email, phone and text (if you have designated texting). There is no need to respond to the message or alert liaisons.
This is our procedure for letting everyone know when School Closure happens or emergencies. We call school for the following reasons:
Three highly-qualified new teachers, Parunee Kaosayapandhu, Oscar Perez and Sandy Shaw, have joined the faculty at Mount Madonna School.

Congratulations to aspiring young boxer Rosino LeGan, a junior at Mount Madonna School, on his recent win in weight class and overall “Best Boxer” honors at the Concord Cup, an annual two-day tournament held August 18-19.
LeGan earned a high-points victory (40-8) in his initial fight, resulting in a decision by event judges and referees to name him as top boxer at the event.
Communication of Change in Transportation:
If you are changing your child’s transportation arrangements, please call our school office the day of the change and inform the receptionist or you can email . They, in turn, with notify the teacher and write a note for the bus monitor, so all are aware of the change.
