YouthSERVE: Summer Institute Offers Volunteer Opportunities for Middle and High School Students

A wonderful opportunity for middle and high school students through the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County, with their free summer program, YouthSERVE Summer Institute. Every summer, this organization matches volunteers with local nonprofits across the county that connect to students’ interests.

Volunteers serve at their sites for six weeks, for up to four days a week for four hours. Every Friday, students participate in fun empowerment workshops, field trips, and group service projects run by YouthSERVE. Students earn community service hours, gain skills, get work experience and make a positive impact on our community. This year, the program will run from June 10 to July 19 and our partners include the Homeless Garden Project, DigitalNest, Jacob’s Heart and the Environmental Science Workshop.

Applications are due May 16.
