Welcome to the 2011-12 academic year! School got off to an exciting start with successful middle and high school trips September 6th – 9th, which staff and students proclaimed “the best ever!”
Now that we’ve been on our “regular schedule” for a week, I’d like to tell you about what’s happening on campus this year. First of all, we are very thankful to welcome back all our faculty members from last year! We have an exceptional team of dedicated teachers.

Two of Mount Madonna School’s (MMS) middle/high faculty, Amy Neff and Matthew Meachen, recently earned master’s degrees in education, a significant milestone in their personal and professional development.

‘Kelp The Otters’ is more than a clever play on words…it a plea that Mount Madonna School’s 5th grade students have taken to heart – and are encouraging the public to join in. Their goal is to educate people about the plight of the California Sea Otter, which is identified by scientists as a keystone species. Keystone species play a critical role in maintaining the healthy structure of their environment, in this case, the ocean habitat.
