Stanford Research Institute to bring STORE to MMS

Mount Madonna's High School science classes will be piloting a series of lessons developed by Stanford Research Institute (SRI) under a grant from the National Science Foundation.  Four years ago, Science Teacher Lisa Catterall asked a class to compile temperature and precipitation data to look for a quantitative answer to the supposed "global warming debate" in our local area.  The data was very hard to find and even more difficult to translate.  SRI noticed around the same time that weather statistics compiled by NASA and the National Weather Service w

Mount Madonna's Model U.N. Club Participates in U.C. Davis Assembly

Mount Madonna School’s Model United Nations (MUN) Club participated in its final assembly of the 2010-2011 school year on May 14-15 at UC Davis. Student participants in the meet were: Alyssa Feskanin, Ryley Devine, and Zoe Kelly, 8th grade; Graydon Griffin and Kavi Duvvoori, 10th grade; Blythe Collier, Lulu Morell-Haltom, and Palak Bhatnagar, 11th grade.

Boys Volleyball Team Scores Top Academic Honor: Best GPAs in CCS

Mount Madonna School’s boys varsity volleyball team has received the Central Coast Section (CCS) highest academic honor by the CIF: “2011 CCS Scholastic Championship Team Award.”

Accreditation Report

MMS received another six year term of accreditation, which began June 2010, from both CAIS and WASC! Member schools are reviewed every six years (or more frequently, if they receive shorter reaccreditation terms after review).

The official Self-Study document is available for viewing in the office. In the early part of the summer, we revised our Action Plan, based on the Visiting Team’s commendations and recommendations. The Action Plan involves three strategic areas: Finance, Community and Governance, as well as a few specific Program improvements.
