“The day's blow rang out, metallic
or it was I, a bell awakened,
and what I heard was my whole self saying and singing what it knew:
I can.”
Denise Levertov
The Mount Madonna School Creative Writing Reading - to be held on
Friday, March 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the MMS Assembly Room - is an annual event
where students, faculty and parents gather together to listen to several
forms of creative writing; poems, short stories, first-person
monologues, and the occasional personal essay. The quality and variety
of writing produced by our students is matched only by the experience of
hearing them read their work aloud to their peers and parents. It is a
magical night; images rise to the rafters and the emotion in the
assembly room is electric listening as the students stumble, cry, laugh,
gush and nail it. People are transformed.
